Project brief

Create a fully tiled wetroom with seamless waterproofing, an integrated shower niche with LED lighting, a waterfall shower head, frameless shower glass, a deep green wall-mounted sink, matt-black fixtures and fittings, wall-mounted storage, an LED mirror, and a close-coupled toilet. Deliver a clean, contemporary look, maximise usable space, and ensure long-term durability.

Key Challenges:

• Convert the existing bathroom into a fully tiled wetroom while achieving a consistent fall to the drain and maintaining safe levels for adjacent rooms.
• Integrate waterproofing and tiling details around a recessed shower niche with concealed LED lighting.
• Match matte-black fixtures and fittings and the bespoke deep-green sink to create a cohesive, high-end aesthetic.
• Minimise disruption and manage tight tolerances for wall-mounted units and concealed plumbing.

Solutions delivered

• Waterproofing: Installed a certified tanking system (liquid membrane and taped junctions) across the entire wetroom floor and lower walls, tested to ensure full integrity before tiling.
• Floor and drainage: Constructed a graded screed to a concealed linear drain to provide reliable drainage and an even, tileable surface with safe falls.
• Tiling: Fully tiled floor-to-ceiling using hard-wearing porcelain tiles selected for slip performance. Tile layouts were planned to minimise cuts and create a continuous visual flow.
• Shower niche with LED: Built a recessed shower niche lined with tanking and finished with tiled back and shelf. Integrated low-voltage waterproof LED strip with a recessed profile for subtle, even illumination.
• Shower specification: Installed a ceiling-mounted waterfall shower head paired with a thermostatic valve for precise temperature control. All shower fittings were matt black to match the scheme.
• Glass and seal: Fitted a frameless toughened glass shower screen with discreet pivot/clip fixings and high-quality seals to prevent splash without interrupting the open feel.
• Sanitaryware and storage: Installed a deep-green, wall-mounted basin unit (custom-selected to the desired shade) and a matching matt-black tap. Added a compact wall-mounted storage unit and a close‑coupled toilet selected for proportion and comfort. An LED mirror with touch control was recessed flush to the wall.
• Fixing and alignment: Precise setting out and concealed fixings for wall-mounted furniture ensured perfect alignment and clean sightlines.
• Quality control: Final commissioning included leak tests, grout/seal inspection, and client walkthrough to confirm finish and operation.
